Role Overview
As a Senior Buyer, you will manage the full procurement cycle for a major infrastructure project. This permanent role requires a professional with solid experience in sourcing mechanical and electrical engineering supplies, negotiating contracts, and setting up supplier agreements.
You’ll be responsible for building a strong network of reliable suppliers, ensuring that project timelines are met, and that the best terms are secured
Responsibilities
- Sourcing and procuring large and small-scale mechanical and electrical components both locally and overseas.
- Evaluating suppliers based on cost, quality, lead time, and reliability.
- Negotiating pricing, setting up supplier contracts, and preparing agreements ready for legal team approval.
- Collaborating with project engineers to align procurement needs with project timelines.
- Ensuring timely deliveries and resolving procurement issues as they arise.
Candidate Profile
- You are a Senior Buyer with extensive experience in largescale projects, particularly in the utilities, infrastructure, defence or water sector.
- You bring strong negotiation skills and a track record of setting up contracts and sourcing engineering supplies/suppliers.
- You thrive in a fast-paced project environment, working closely with engineering & technical teams to meet critical deadlines.
- You have exceptional communication skills, a passion for continuous improvement and taking things to the next level is at the core of who you are.
- Your leadership and stakeholder engagement skills will ensure your success.
