Role Overview:
Reporting to the CFO and Commercial Officer, the Deputy CFO is accountable for managing and executing corporate and program finance activities, supporting financial decisions across ASC, managing and maintaining ASC’s insurance and risk, and managing ASC’s infrastructure master plan. This will all be done through aligning activities with ASC’s strategy and ensuring ASC meet any relevant finance contractual deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Manage ASC’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, tax and auditing. Ensure financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the short and long-term strategic business objectives and are conducted in accordance with regulations, accounting principles, and standards.
- Risk and Insurance: Management and oversight of ASC’s insurance and risk strategies, including business continuity planning and sustainability strategies
Infrastructure Planning: Management of ASC’s Infrastructure planning including long term strategies.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement ASC's financial strategy
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly financial reporting & financial statement preparation. Ensure the timely reporting of key financial data and updates to the CFCO, CEO, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders
- Leadership: Provide direction to the Finance and accounting team to ensure their ongoing professional development and training.
Candidate Profile:
You are a CA or CPA qualified Finance Professional with significant experience in senior finance leadership roles. It is critical as the Deputy CFO that you are present and visible in the business. You will connect with the business at all levels to understand it from the ground up, and in doing so, you will be able to link what the business is doing and saying, to the financial strategy corporate plan.
As a leader, the Deputy CFO will demonstrate a calm, approachable and collaborative demeanour and will manage a large headcount. With a broad and varied stakeholder group, including the Board and Audit & Risk Committee, you will be a versatile communicator and highly accomplished in stakeholder engagement.
- Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, economics or a related disciple
- Certified as a Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or similar.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of financial principles, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and risk management
- Demonstrated experience in strategic financial planning
- Demonstrated experience upholding high ethical standards and integrity in financial reporting and business practices
- You will also be required to obtain a security clearance and therefore are required to be an Australian Citizen.
