Responsibilities

  • Stay up to date with changes in employment legislation and ensure compliance across the organisation. Provide advice and guidance on workplace relations matters.
  • Assist in reviewing, developing, and implementing HR policies and procedures in line with best practices and legislative requirements.
  • Provide accurate and timely HR advice to managers and employees on a range of people-related matters, including performance management, employee relations, and workplace policies.
  • Support the end-to-end recruitment process, including advertising, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
  • Maintain HR records, contracts, and documentation while ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture, engagement, and employee wellbeing.
  • Assist the Head of HR with HR projects, reporting, and strategic initiatives as the organisation continues its journey of transformation.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have a formal HR qualification and solid experience in an HR advisory role, providing guidance on a range of people-related matters. A strong understanding of employment law and workplace relations is essential, with the ability to interpret legislation and ensure compliance across the organisation. They will be confident in developing policies and procedures, supporting recruitment, and advising managers on HR best practices. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are key, along with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset. Experience working with volunteers or in a not-for-profit environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
