Role Overview

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the Fixed Asset Consultant plays a key role in managing the accounting treatments applied to fixed assets, leases, intangible assets, and other month-end responsibilities. This position ensures compliance with relevant accounting standards and supports the accurate and timely completion of financial reporting activities. By building strong relationships with senior stakeholders, the Fixed Asset Consultant contributes to improved financial reporting and informed decision-making across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a complete and accurate fixed asset register, ensuring timely recording of additions, disposals, and reclassifications.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations between the fixed asset register and general ledger, resolving discrepancies.
  • Accurately calculate and record depreciation in line with AASB 116.
  • Review asset lives and residual values periodically, recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Manage lease schedules and ensure correct accounting of right-of-use assets and lease liabilities using Dynamics 365.
  • Perform monthly lease account reconciliations and address discrepancies.
  • Monitor lease changes, including renewals, modifications, and terminations, and update records accordingly.
  • Provide audit support by preparing lease documentation and responding to queries.
  • Intangible Asset Management
  • Maintain an up-to-date intangible asset register, recording all additions, amortisations, and impairments.
  • Conduct impairment testing as required under AASB 136.
  • Reconcile intangible asset accounts monthly.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards for internally generated intangibles.

Candidate Profile

  • CPA or CA qualified with at least 3 years PQE.
  • Expertise in fixed asset, lease, and intangible asset management and accounting treatments.
  • Previous use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is essential.
  • Ability to build relationships across the company
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office 365 skills (Excel knowledge essential)
