Role Highlights
Reporting to the Head of Finance – Multi Class Sustainment, the Finance Manager – Program Governance will play a critical role in consolidating and driving program finance reporting, governance and performance across ASC. This is a highly visible role in a complex, fast-moving environment, requiring a strong mix of commercial acumen, finance management, and project principles.

ASC Pty Ltd has recently been selected as the Australian Government’s Sovereign Submarine Partner to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines. Responsibilities
• Drive the on-time delivery and quality of program finance reporting, both internal and external, across ASC’s major sustainment and new-build programs
• Work with senior managers across the business to develop financial plans aligned to corporate strategy and project outcomes
• Provide management and oversight of systems and tools to ensure accurate, timely and clear reporting, including input into Board and shareholder reports
• Lead and deliver the Continuous Improvement plan for program finance, ensuring tools, systems, processes and frameworks are efficient, effective and aligned to best practice
• Provide decision support on ad hoc projects, including bidding and pricing activities, and support the shaping of key contracts
• Document, enforce and communicate key project accounting processes across the business, ensuring consistency and compliance
• Partner with ASC stakeholders and develop strong relationships with the customer to influence financial strategies and positive contractual outcomes
• Engage with and support external and customer audits
• Support and actively review peer Finance Managers’ outputs to maintain adherence to timelines and quality standards
• Act as a key enabler of finance system improvement initiatives and lead continuous improvement projects across process, people and systems
• Set a clear and consistent environment where performance expectations are understood, providing feedback and identifying development opportunities to support team and organisational success

Candidate Profile
You will be an accomplished finance professional with proven success in project financial management, ideally in large-scale or complex environments. You combine strong technical knowledge with the ability to influence, advise and partner with senior stakeholders.

Specifically, you will bring:
• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting, with full CA/CPA/CIMA membership
• Strong track record in project or program financial management, including bids and pricing support
• Proven commercial acumen with the ability to support contract negotiations and strategic decision making
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels
• Analytical strength and resilience in a complex, fast-moving environment
• Sound knowledge of ERP systems, with Power BI or earned value management techniques highly regarded
