Role Overview

You will join a specialist Reinsurance business at a pivotal moment in their growth story, tasked with helping to establish a new Casualty Facultative portfolio across Australia and New Zealand. This is a rare opportunity to step across from the direct market into Reinsurance, working alongside a high-calibre team and contributing directly to a broader APAC underwriting strategy.

Responsibilities

• Help build a new Casualty Facultative Reinsurance portfolio across Australia & New Zealand
• Assess and write Casualty Facultative Reinsurance business with a disciplined and commercial underwriting approach
• Build and develop relationships with Reinsurance and Specialty brokers across the ANZ market
• Work closely with counterparts in Property and Energy to support cross-class collaboration and knowledge sharing
• Support the delivery of a regional Asia-Pacific underwriting strategy in line with business growth objectives

Candidate Profile

You will be a Professional Indemnity Underwriter with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, looking to take an exciting next step into the Reinsurance market.

You will:

• Hold a minimum of 5 years’ underwriting experience within Professional Indemnity at a regulated Insurer
• Bring experience in Construction PI, which will be highly regarded
• Possess an established broker network within the Australian market, considered advantageous
• Demonstrate strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities with rigorous attention to detail
• Be commercially minded with a genuine appetite to grow and develop within a Reinsurance environment
