We are seeking someone with strong people-management experience and solid technical accounting skills to lead and manage the National Finance & Administration function. The role is a true blend of leadership and operational improvement, with 50% people management and 50% continuous business improvement. You will be responsible for driving efficiencies, enhancing processes and working closely with the overseas shared services team to ensure administration systems and financial operations run smoothly across the business.

Role Overview

This role oversees the National Finance & Administration function, leading a diverse team of analysts, accountants, specialists and support staff to ensure all administration systems operate effectively and support business needs. Acting as a key advisor on administration, taxation and accounting matters, the position plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance, maintaining governance and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting. A major focus is driving continuous improvement by streamlining processes, managing system upgrades and national initiatives, and partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants representing the function across committees and cross-functional forums. With a strong emphasis on leadership, development and capability uplift, this role promotes responsible business practices and ensures high-quality operational performance across the Finance & Administration landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the National Finance & Administration function to ensure all administration systems effectively support business operations
  • Oversee a multi-level team including analysts, accountants, specialists, technicians and office staff
  • Drive performance, development, training and capability uplift across the team
  • Act as a key advisor on administration, taxation and accounting matters, ensuring compliance
  • Maintain strong governance across controls, policies, procedures, data integrity and security
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial reports, management statistics and ratio analysis
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by streamlining and optimising administration processes
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations between onshore teams and offshore shared services to ensure seamless delivery
  • Manage projects related to system upgrades, administration changes and national initiatives
  • Represent the Finance & Administration function in committees and cross-functional meetings
  • Provide leadership cover for senior leaders and broader admin staff when required
  • Identify and deliver business improvement opportunities aligned with organisational goals
