Role Overview

This is a highly exciting role within a large complex industrial / manufacturing business whereby a rare opportunity has arisen for a high-calibre Senior Financial Accountant  with a technical accounting appreciation and a process improvement outlook to join the business in a pivotal, newly created role.

You will be responsible for delivering highquality financial accounting, governance, and reporting across several core centralised processes. This role will directly support the Group Financial Controller in driving accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial controls across the organisation.

This is a highly visible, impactful role offering good exposure to the senior leadership team and working in a collaborative team environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review month end journals, reconciliations, and analysis as part of the Group monthend close, maintaining strong internal controls and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and Group policies.
  • Assist with Group reporting processes, including monthly and half yearly results/reports, ASX announcements and statutory financial reports.
  • Take ownership of complex accounting areas and ensure issues are resolved promptly and proactively.
  • Own the end-to-end payroll accounting process across all entities, maintaining compliance with AASB 119 as well as reconciling payroll-related balance sheet accounts (PAYG, superannuation, leave provisions, payroll tax, etc.).
  • Partner closely with HR/Payroll teams to ensure accuracy, governance, and timely resolution of issues and prepare detailed payroll cost analysis to support variance reviews, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Lead the monthly intercompany reconciliation process across all entities.
  • Support month-end inventory valuation reviews and commentary.

 

Candidate Profile

This role is a brilliant opportunity for a candidate, likely a first mover at Manager level from an Audit firm, either within Big 4 or a Mid-Tier Accounting firm. Alternatively, this may suit a second mover with Head Office experience gained within a complex environment. The ideal candidate will be CA / CPA Qualified with excellent communication skills as well as demonstrating a positive attitude towards process improvements and a focus on controls and governance. This role would suit a candidate who is seeking to join an established organisation with plenty of scope for building their career in a business which offers plenty of scope for future internal career progression.
