Role Overview

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Sales Executive will be responsible for driving new business growth and establishing a strong presence across the Mackay region. On a daily basis, you will prospect, generate leads, engage with customers and convert opportunities into long-term partnerships, ensuring sales targets are achieved.

In this role, you will play a critical part in launching and growing a brand-new market. Your ability to build relationships, create opportunities and win new business will directly contribute to the success of the region and the broader organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven sales professional to take ownership of a territory, make a tangible impact and grow alongside a business with ambitious expansion plans.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to drive growth across the Mackay and Airlie Beach regions
  • Proactively identify, prospect and secure new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals and market research
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities, ensuring consistent sales activity and lead generation
  • Engage with key decision-makers to understand their business needs and present tailored solutions that deliver value
  • Conduct customer meetings, presentations and sales negotiations to convert prospects into long-term customers
  • Identify and maximise cross-selling and upselling opportunities to increase customer value and drive revenue growth
  • Leverage CRM systems and prospecting tools to manage sales activity, track opportunities and maintain accurate pipeline reporting
  • Establish and nurture strong customer relationships, becoming a trusted advisor and long-term partner
  • Maintain a high level of market awareness, identifying emerging opportunities and industry trends
  • Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets while contributing to the overall growth and success of the region

  • Minimum 2+ years' sales experience within a business development, field sales or new business-focused role
  • A genuine passion for sales and a strong desire to build a successful long-term career in business development
  • A proven ability to generate leads, secure appointments and convert opportunities into customers
  • A hunter mentality with the confidence to proactively approach new prospects and create opportunities
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage decision-makers and build trust quickly
  • High levels of motivation, resilience and accountability, with a drive to consistently achieve results
  • The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your territory, pipeline and performance
  • Experience using CRM systems, with exposure to Salesforce and LinkedIn Navigator highly regarded
