Role Overview / Description

Reporting directly to the HR Director, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking to take the next step in their career.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of payroll across Australia and New Zealand for a large employee base, ensuring payroll is processed accurately, compliantly and on time through ADP. Alongside your core payroll responsibilities, you will gain exposure to payroll systems, process improvement initiatives and business-critical projects.

This role has been designed for someone who wants to grow beyond payroll processing and develop broader leadership capabilities. You will receive direct coaching and support from an experienced HR Director, providing valuable exposure to stakeholder management, HR systems administration and wider people operations responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing across Australia and New Zealand using ADP
  • Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and on time, including fortnightly, monthly and ad hoc payroll cycles
  • Handle payroll reconciliations, reporting requirements and payroll-related queries
  • Act as the key point of contact for payroll matters across the business
  • Ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation, awards and company policies
  • Build strong relationships with HR, Finance and operational stakeholders
  • Support payroll audits, month-end activities and reporting requirements
  • Assist with payroll systems administration and contribute to upcoming systems and integration projects
  • Work closely with an experienced HR Director to develop broader stakeholder management and leadership capabilities
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls and efficiencies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives as the organisation continues to grow and evolve

Candidate Profile

You are an experienced payroll professional with strong end-to-end payroll capability and a desire to take the next step in your career. You enjoy taking ownership, thrive in fast-paced environments and are looking for an opportunity that will broaden your exposure while allowing you to remain hands-on.

ADP experience is essential.

You may currently be working as a Senior Payroll Officer, Payroll Specialist, Payroll Lead or similar and are seeking a role that offers genuine career progression. Exposure to New Zealand payroll will be highly regarded, while experience supporting payroll projects, systems improvements or HRIS platforms will also be advantageous.
