ROLE HIGHLIGHTS
Reporting to the Group Tax Manager, the Global Mobility Tax Specialist will act as a trusted tax adviser across ASC’s growing international workforce, providing specialist advice on the tax implications of employees working across multiple jurisdictions.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across Global Mobility, Payroll, P&C and Finance, you will provide advice on complex mobility and employment tax matters, support expatriate tax compliance and help shape policies and decisions as ASC’s international activities expand.

ASC Pty Ltd has recently been selected as the Australian Government’s Sovereign Submarine Partner to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide specialist advice on global mobility, employment tax and international assignment matters
- Partner with senior leaders, Global Mobility, P&C and Payroll on tax implications and business decisions
- Manage tax matters relating to ASC’s international assignee population
- Coordinate with external tax advisers on expatriate compliance, tax returns and tax equalisation
- Advise on the tax treatment of international assignments, compensation, benefits and business travel
- Support Australian and international employment tax and withholding obligations
- Prepare assignment cost and home/host country tax estimates to support decision-making
- Influence Global Mobility policies and strengthen tax processes, governance and controls
CANDIDATE PROFILE
You will be an experienced tax professional who brings strong technical capability alongside the confidence to operate as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders. You will be able to interpret complex tax matters, provide clear and practical advice, and influence decisions across a large and evolving organisation.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
- CA or CPA qualification
- Significant tax experience, ideally across Global Mobility, Employment Tax and/or Indirect Tax
- Exposure to expatriate tax, international assignments or employment tax matters would be highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation requirements
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax matters for non-tax stakeholders
- The confidence to provide advice and influence stakeholders at a senior level
- The ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- A Graduate Diploma of Taxation and/or professional membership with the Tax Institute would be highly regarded
