Role Overview
Reo Group - Homebush is seeking a motivated and proactive Accountant eager to grow and advance in their finance career to become part of our dynamic and energetic accounting team. The normal working hours are 38hr/week. The salary is $75,000-$80,000 commensurate with experience. This is a great opportunity to work for a renowned Australian company. Reporting directly to the financial director, you will take on a diverse accounting role with clear opportunities for career advancement. The position is based at our Homebush Surrounds, with a requirement for 5 days of in-office attendance each week. Retail industry experience as an accountant is essential for consideration. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Perform daily and monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports for the Financial Controller and General Manager.
- Handle month-end close procedures and prepare financial statements.
- Reconcile the balance sheet and post journal entries.
- Process payroll data as needed, including investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Managing and processing accounts payable and accounts receivables, including international transactions.
- Managing accrued expenses and prepayments
- Assisting the annual audit, taxation and statutory reporting obligations
- Analyse the company's costs, revenue, trends and other financial commitments
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual Business Activity Statement
- Examine and analyse operating costs and the organisation's income
- Maintenance and preparation of product costings to aid with customer pricing decision
Candidate Profile
- At least 2+ years work experience in a similar role
- Minimum Bachelor Degree qualification in accounting
- Experience in Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of accounting concepts
- Exceptional time management and meeting deadlines
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with managers and all employees
- The ability to grow genuine relationships through building trust and acting with integrity with suppliers & employees
- High Level of attention to detail
