Role Overview
As the Accounts Payable Officer, you will play a crucial role in payment processing and accounting management. You will be responsible for processing high-volume invoices daily, keeping vendor ledgers up-to-date and resolving any payment discrepancies. The role involves providing payment forecast in weekly cash flow and assisting with the month-end close.

Responsibilities 

  • Process approved and receipted invoices in a timely manner.
  • Address invoice and statement inquiries with sites and suppliers.
  • Execute payment and reporting activities in accordance with established deadlines.
  • Conduct supplier statement reconciliations and assist with month-end closing procedures.
  • Monitor account details for compliance with payment terms, identifying duplicate payments and other irregularities.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies as they arise.
  • Review accounts payable aging reports to ensure compliance with financial policies.
  • Maintain organized files and records for audit and reference purposes.
  • Address and resolve queries from suppliers and vendors effectively.
  • Process adjustments, pending invoices, and credit notes using the QAD system.
  • Provide payment forecasts for inclusion in the weekly cash flow report.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers via phone, email, mail, or in-person as needed.
  • Manage the end-to-end payment process, including banking activities, in alignment with the established schedule.

Candidate Profile 
You are a passionate finance professional, with a hands-on approach and a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of AP experience and 1-2 years of FMCG experience. Ideally coming out of a fast-paced working environment or FMCG organisation you will have exposure to a complex matrix organisation. With exceptional communication skills that you leverage in shaping positive working relationships, you are flexible in working through hurdles in a rapid environment. A passion for continuous improvement and taking things to the next level is at the core of who you are.
