Role Overview

Reporting into senior finance leadership, this Finance Manager will take ownership of delivering financial insight, analysis, and reporting across a major development portfolio mainly in QLD along with managing two direct reports.

Regularly, you will lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, provide detailed financial performance analysis, and partner with project teams to deliver commercial insights. You will also oversee month-end reporting, ensure accuracy of financial results, and contribute to audit and compliance processes.

This role plays a critical part in supporting decision-making across complex projects, providing forward-looking insights on profitability, risks, and opportunities. You will collaborate cross-functionally with legal, tax, and operational teams, while also leading and developing a small team. Your ability to influence, challenge, and drive continuous improvement will be key to success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across a portfolio of development projects
  • Deliver insightful financial analysis and performance reporting with clear recommendations
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to provide commercial advice and decision support
  • Analyse project profitability, risks, and opportunities across the portfolio
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and board-level reporting packs
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial results, including P&L and balance sheet
  • Support audit processes and the preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across reporting and finance processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, tax, and operations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team 

Candidate Profile

You are a commercially minded finance professional with strong experience partnering with senior stakeholders in complex environments. CA or CPA qualified, you bring a proven track record in financial analysis, reporting, and business partnering, ideally within property or large-scale project-based industries. You are confident navigating ambiguity and have the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights that drive business outcomes.

You are an engaging leader who enjoys developing teams and building strong relationships across the business. With a proactive mindset, you challenge the status quo and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and performance. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and advanced Excel capability will set you apart.
