Role Overview

As the Payroll Specialist, you will be reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller. You will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery on payroll and liaising with internal and external stakeholders on any pay related matters. You will be an expert in award and multiple EBA interpretations.

In this position, you will be responsible for delivering HR and Finance reporting to essential stakeholders and offering expert guidance and support on payroll-related issues, including award updates, wage rates, and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs), within a dynamic service industry environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform the end-to-end payroll across multiple entities ensuring accuracy and on time delivery for over 1000+ staff using Micropay.
• Processing timesheets and the monthly payments for PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including the interpretation of Modern Awards and EBAs.

• Preparation of wages, annual leave liability, payroll tax and superannuation journals.
• New employee set-up and maintenance of current employees.
• Address ongoing employee queries from staff and management.
• Contribute to the development of process improvement including monitoring, reviewing, and improving relevant policies, including maintaining employment / payroll procedures on a regular basis.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and problem solve any complex payroll queries.
• Ad-hoc support to various HR projects and initiatives.

Candidate Profile

You are an experienced Payroll Officer who has proven experience managing payroll end to end ideally across multiple entities. You will have experience using Micropay or another payroll related ERP system and will ensure your work is always of the highest level with an impeccable attention to detail.

You naturally seek out best practice and thrive working in a role where you can seek out process improvements and manage future system implementations to ensure the payroll function is running seamlessly. Your communication and influencing skills are of the highest standard and your natural passion for Payroll will see you hit the ground running.
