Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role supports the Broader Finance team by improving accounting systems, processes, and output. Responsibilities include assisting shared service cost centres and National Import/Export, as well as tasks like month-end processes, cash book maintenance, and reporting. The role provides exposure to various business areas and systems, with opportunities for advancement to senior finance roles. This role will give you the opportunity to provide business and financial advice to key stakeholders in the business. 

Responsibilities 

  • Monthly report preparation to meet business unit and Corporate Office requirements.
  • Daily processing and reconciliation of group cashbook.
  • Weekly uploading and verification of wages journals.
  • Weekly preparation of profit estimates for Export/Import.
  • Processing and raising purchase orders for National expenses.
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including payroll clearing accounts and export/import ledger accounts.
  • Month-end reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
  • Maintenance of the Lease Asset Register.
  • Participation in monthly stocktakes, assisting in Annual Budget preparation, product maintenance setup, ad hoc reporting, queries, and special projects as needed.

Candidate Profile 
As an ideal candidate for this role, you hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree or its equivalent and have either completed or commenced studying for a CA/CPA qualification. You possess a solid understanding of financial accounting and compliance issues and thrive in a collaborative team environment, displaying strong team-based values. With experience in assisting with financial report preparations, they exhibit a proactive "Can do" attitude and are adept at managing multiple tasks with varying priorities. Your communication skills, both verbal and written, are excellent, and you demonstrate keen attention to detail. Moreover, you have a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and excel in time management, administration, and organizational skills.
