Role Highlights: This role offers a unique opportunity to build relationships and shape safety culture within a high-paced, complex site that is going through various upgrades and automation projects, including a new WHS framework. With the support of the Operations and Safety Managers, you will work with the wider team on a range of initiatives that drive real change.

Role Overview:

As the Health & Safety Coordinator, you’ll be the main on-site contact for Ingleburn’s manufacturing plant, working closely with various managers and stakeholders across diverse teams to roll out new safety initiatives and improve on existing frameworks.  
Supported by experienced safety leaders, you’ll lead site-level initiatives, promote a proactive safety culture, and be at the forefront of safety systems implementation. Your ability to connect with team members, ask questions, and seek collaborative solutions will be essential as you influence best practices across the plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead on-site safety initiatives and ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and regulations
  • Champion the Health & Safety Strategic Plan to establish a strong, proactive safety culture.
  • Support the rollout and effective use of the safety platform and other safety systems
  • Act as the key point of contact for safety matters, building strong relationships across departments
  • Provide health and safety training and guidance to site teams and contractors
  • Collaborate with Engineering on safety compliance for machinery, and other critical areas.
  • Handle site audits, inspections and incident investigations, including root cause analysis, and recommend preventative actions
  • Support health and wellbeing initiatives to foster a supportive workplace culture

Candidate Profile:

You’re a motivated safety professional with formal qualifications in safety and at least 1 year of hands-on experience within an FMCG or general manufacturing environment.

Known for your people skills, you bring a hands-on, adaptable approach to safety, with a strong drive to make an impact.

  • Cert4 in WHS (minimum) 
  • 1-2 years in a similar Safety, HSE, WHS role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communicator, able to build relationships across teams.
  • Familiar with safety systems/software such as DoneSafe, iAuditor, SafetyCulture will be helpful. 
  • Continuous Improvement focus - Any exposure with creating checklists or using systems such as Iauditor, creating new processes, transition of systems will be benefiical 
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and passionate about safety.
