Role Highlights:
As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate payment of supplier accounts. You will use your strong organisational and time management skills to ensure that all reconciliations are finalised. This role is ideal for an individual looking to advance their career in finance within a reputable organisation.
Role Overview
You will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Group Accountant, and Accountant. Your responsibilities will include processing invoices, reconciling accounts, managing supplier queries, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and GST requirements. Your ability to manage deadlines and maintain accuracy will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the finance department.
Responsibilities
• Ensure all invoices are processed with correct accounting codes, authorisation, and in compliance with GST requirements
• Reconcile monthly statements and resolve discrepancies, including following up on missing invoices
• Draw cheques or EFT payments for monthly, weekly, and one-off accounts
• Address account queries promptly, ensuring no delays in supplier payments
• Submit the monthly batch to the CFO by the 20th of each month
• Process account applications as required
• Perform journal entries for discrepancies identified by accounting staff
• Liaise with creditors and manage account status inquiries
• Maintain filing systems and assist with any other administrative duties related to the role
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised, and have a strong eye for detail. You should be able to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively. In addition, you will have:
• Previous experience in an accounts payable role, preferably in a high volume environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Exceptional organisational and time management abilities
• Ability to work autonomously and with initiative
• Proficient in computer systems and administration tasks
• A current driver's license
