Career-defining opportunity to join a high-growth Underwriting Agency with an outstanding brand, team and message. You will take the lead with support of technical experts to build a property-focused commercial insurance offering, distributed through broker partners.

Role Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a proven Commercial Property Underwriting leader to launch a new Insurance product to the Australian market. With a binder already established and baseline parameters, you will be able to enhance the product offering with your own expertise and ensure it is fit for purpose.

Work with an exceptional team of Underwriting leaders, Product & Actuarial professionals and Data & Technology experts to bring this product to market through a significant community of supportive brokers.

Responsibilities

• Develop Underwriting philosophy and guidelines to ensure product is fit for launch
• Bring the product to market through local and national broker partners in Australia
• Continuously enhance and refine product features and appetite to ensure a balanced portfolio
• Develop relationships with key brokers, peers and partners
• Build and lead a team of motivated underwriters with exceptional claims support

Candidate Profile

You will be a proven underwriting leader with a track record of writing Commercial Property business with intermediated or digital distribution.

• Demonstrated loyalty and stability in a successful Short-Tail Underwriting career to date
• Experience with Property products ideally including ISR and Strata
• Technologically savvy with exposure to digital platforms
• A varied and supportive community of brokers, preferably in the Mid-Market and SME sectors
• High energy and drive to build something new
