The Opportunity: A respected organisation is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to lead a high-performing team and oversee the full AR function. Role Overview
Reporting to a Financial Controller, you will lead a small team and take ownership of end-to-end accounts receivable operations. Your responsibilities will include invoicing, collections, reconciliations, reporting, and process improvement. You’ll also play a key role in supporting a sector-specific billing project, helping to align best practice with regulatory requirements and organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the full accounts receivable cycle including invoicing, collections, and reconciliation
• Lead and mentor a small AR team to achieve performance and compliance objectives
• Develop strategies to improve cash flow and reduce outstanding balances
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams to resolve queries
• Monitor and manage customer credit limits and payment terms
• Collaborate on a sector-specific billing and collections project to enhance service delivery
• Provide reporting and analysis to support finance leadership
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and sector regulations
• Champion automation and continuous improvement across AR processes
• Handle complex queries and disputes with professionalism and diplomacy
Candidate Profile
You are a confident and capable leader with a strong foundation in accounts receivable and credit control. You combine excellent analytical skills with a practical approach to problem-solving, and you thrive in environments that require both empathy and efficiency. You’re experienced in working with accounting systems such as Microsoft Business Central, SAP, or Oracle, and ideally bring knowledge of billing processes in regulated or community-focused sectors.
