The Opportunity:
A well-established organisation is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to manage the timely and accurate processing of supplier accounts. Role Overview
Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing the full accounts payable function, ensuring that all supplier accounts are reconciled accurately and paid on time. You’ll be a key contact for suppliers and internal departments, playing a crucial role in maintaining strong financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process invoices with appropriate coding, departmental approvals, and GST compliance
- Reconcile supplier statements, investigate discrepancies, and follow up on missing documentation
- Prepare and process EFT and cheque payments for monthly, weekly, and ad-hoc accounts
- Manage supplier queries and ensure timely resolution to avoid payment delays
- Finalise monthly account batches by the 20th of each month
- Process new account applications and cost-correction journals as required
- Maintain accurate filing systems and creditor records
- Prepare reconciliations and aged creditor reports by month-end
- Support interdepartmental collaboration and provide financial information when needed
- Perform cross-training duties and offer relief support during staff absences
Candidate Profile
You are a proactive and meticulous accounts payable professional with strong time management and communication skills. You can work independently, handle multiple tasks efficiently, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement. Experience in the automotive industry and familiarity with modern financial systems will be highly regarded.
