Role Overview;
As an Underwriter in this role, you’ll be responsible for assessing and processing new business, renewals, and endorsements within your delegated authority. You’ll work closely with brokers to deliver accurate, timely service and support senior underwriters with referrals and constructive feedback. Your day-to-day will involve underwriting decisions, documentation, and broker engagement.
This role is pivotal in supporting the performance of the underwriting portfolio and contributing to strategic initiatives. You’ll gain exposure to product development, performance metrics, and ad hoc project work, helping shape the future of our client’s commercial insurance book. It’s a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills and make a meaningful contribution to the rural sector.
Responsibilities;
• Underwrite new business, renewals, and endorsements within delegated authority across a varied product range
• Deliver professional, accurate, and timely service to brokers and clients
• Support senior underwriters with referrals and constructive feedback
• Analyse portfolio performance metrics and contribute to product development
• Participate in ad hoc projects with the Product Management team
Candidate Profile;
You are ready to take the next step in your underwriting career, bringing experience in underwriting, broking, or a related insurance role, with solid knowledge of insurance principles and products. You hold (or are working toward) an AQF Certificate IV or Diploma in General Insurance.
You’re analytical, collaborative, and confident in managing relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders.
This role would suit ambitious junior or assistant underwriter ready to expand their product expertise, or commercially minded brokers keen to pivot into underwriting. A passion for rural industries and a drive for continuous improvement will set you apart.
