Role Benefit: Full ownership of a strategically important national retail portfolio, driving commercial performance across Woolworths and Aldi; Shape Joint Business Plans, pricing and category strategy to unlock sustainable growth; Play a pivotal role in scaling a fast-growing FMCG business as it expands its presence and capability across Australia.

Role Overview / Description

Reporting into the General Manager Sales, the National Account Manager is a critical commercial leadership role responsible for managing and growing one of the business’s most strategically important retail partnerships across Woolworths and Aldi.

This is a high-impact, customer-facing role sitting at the centre of a fast-moving FMCG business, where decisions around pricing, range, promotions, and supply directly influence sales performance, margin delivery, and category growth across both Private Label and Branded portfolios.

Following a period of rapid growth and increasing complexity in national accounts, the business is now seeking a dedicated commercial lead to take full ownership of key retail relationships that are currently heavily managed by senior leadership. This role will bring structure, discipline, and strategic focus to Joint Business Planning, while ensuring strong execution across a highly perishable, short shelf-life product environment.

You will act as the primary commercial interface with major retailers, building trusted partnerships with buyers and category teams, and ensuring the business is positioned as a preferred, high-performing supplier. Internally, you will be the voice of the customer, driving alignment across Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and NPD to ensure seamless execution from forecast through to shelf.

Beyond account management, this role is about commercial leadership — owning profitability, influencing range and promotional strategy, and identifying opportunities for sustainable growth across a complex, high-velocity FMCG portfolio.

This is a rare opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of strategically critical national accounts, directly influence business performance, and play a central role in shaping the future structure and success of a scaling FMCG organisation.

Responsibilities

  • National Account Ownership: Lead end-to-end management of key retail accounts including Woolworths and Aldi, driving sales, margin, and long-term partnership growth.
  • Joint Business Planning: Develop and execute JBPs aligned to customer strategy and business objectives, ensuring disciplined delivery of commercial outcomes.
  • Commercial Performance: Own pricing, trade spend, promotions, and profitability across a multi-category portfolio spanning Private Label and Branded products.
  • Retail Relationship Management: Build and maintain senior-level relationships with buyers, category managers, and retail stakeholders to strengthen partnership positioning.
  • Range & Category Execution: Partner with internal NPD and Category teams to manage product launches, range optimisation, and category growth initiatives.
  • Forecasting & Supply Alignment: Own demand planning inputs and collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure availability, service levels, and waste minimisation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the central customer voice across Sales, Finance, Operations, and NPD to ensure aligned execution of customer requirements.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide accurate reporting on sales, margin, forecasts, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Commercial Governance: Ensure compliance with internal pricing approvals, retailer requirements, and commercial frameworks.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a commercially sharp and relationship-driven National Account Manager with proven experience managing major FMCG retail accounts, ideally across Woolworths and/or Aldi. Experience within fresh, chilled, or short shelf-life product categories will be highly regarded, given the pace, complexity, and supply sensitivity of the environment.

You bring a strong track record of managing end-to-end national account relationships, balancing commercial outcomes with execution discipline across pricing, promotions, forecasting, and range management. You are confident operating within complex retail environments, where margin pressure, trade spend, and supply constraints must be continuously balanced.

Critical to your success is your ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with retail buyers, category managers, and internal stakeholders. You are credible at a senior level, commercially articulate, and able to influence outcomes in high-pressure negotiation environments while maintaining strong partnerships.

You combine commercial acumen with strong analytical capability, with a clear understanding of how to drive sales growth, margin improvement, and category performance through disciplined Joint Business Planning and effective execution. You are comfortable owning P&L outcomes and making real-time commercial decisions that impact business performance.

You thrive in fast-paced, high-velocity FMCG environments where agility, resilience, and ownership are essential. You are self-directed, solutions-focused, and capable of operating with autonomy while staying closely aligned to broader business strategy.

Above all, you are motivated by ownership of key retail relationships, the opportunity to shape commercial outcomes at scale, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to a growing FMCG business with strong exposure to senior leadership and future progression opportunities.

Culture & Benefits

This is a fast-growing, commercially driven FMCG business that values ownership, pace, and strong commercial thinking. The culture is hands-on, pragmatic, and outcomes-focused — where people are trusted to take responsibility, move quickly, and make decisions that directly impact customers and business performance.

There is a strong emphasis on collaboration across Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and NPD, with a clear expectation that teams work closely together to solve problems, protect service levels, and unlock growth opportunities in a highly competitive retail environment.

This role offers genuine end-to-end ownership of key national retail accounts, with the autonomy to shape commercial strategy, influence Joint Business Plans, and drive performance across both Private Label and Branded portfolios. You will operate as the key interface between the business and major retailers, with visibility and direct engagement with senior leadership.

You will also gain exposure to complex, high-velocity FMCG categories where short shelf-life, demand volatility, and retailer dynamics require strong commercial judgement and agility. The environment rewards people who are proactive, commercially sharp, and comfortable working with a high level of accountability.

For the right candidate, this is a high-impact opportunity to step into a critical commercial role at a time of growth, with strong visibility, real ownership, and clear pathways to broader leadership as the business continues to scale.
