Role Overview

The Business Development Executive will be responsible for driving new business opportunities while also developing and expanding existing customer relationships. This role will focus heavily on prospecting, relationship-building, and solution-based selling, helping organisations maintain safe, compliant, and hygienic workplaces.

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this position will operate with a high degree of autonomy while working closely with a collaborative national sales team. The role will involve a mix of new business development, account growth, and client engagement, requiring strong commercial awareness and a genuine "hunter" mindset.

On a daily basis, the Business Development Executive will prospect for new clients, engage with customers, and manage sales conversations from initial outreach through to proposal and close.
On a weekly basis, the role will focus on pipeline development, customer meetings, sales presentations, and strategic planning to build sustainable revenue opportunities.
On an ongoing basis, the Business Development Executive will develop strong relationships with clients, identify cross-selling opportunities, and contribute to the continued growth and stability of the regional sales function.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through structured prospecting and lead generation activities.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline through research, outreach, and relationship building.
  • Conduct customer meetings and presentations that clearly articulate value and address client needs.
  • Utilise consultative questioning techniques to understand client pain points and tailor solutions accordingly.
  • Convert qualified prospects into customers through effective negotiation and relationship management.
  • Expand revenue opportunities within existing accounts through cross-selling and upselling.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and collaborate to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
  • Track sales activity, opportunities, and customer interactions using internal systems and reporting tools.
  • Consistently meet or exceed individual and team sales targets.

 

Candidate Profile

You are a driven sales professional with experience in B2B business development and a strong desire to win new business. You bring a proactive and resilient approach to sales, with the ability to quickly build rapport, ask insightful questions, and uncover opportunities.

You thrive in a relationship-driven environment and are confident managing your own pipeline while contributing to a broader team culture. Curiosity, strong listening skills, and a genuine customer-first mindset will be key to success in this role.

You are comfortable operating autonomously, managing your time effectively in a field-based role, and maintaining a structured approach to prospecting and pipeline development.
