Role Overview

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting across a key division of the business. You will take ownership of the month-end, half-year and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial data is complete, reconciled and compliant. A core part of your role will involve preparing detailed analysis and commentary on financial performance, including variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.

On a day-to-day basis, you will partner closely with both finance and operational stakeholders, providing insights into key drivers of business performance. You will play an active role in budgeting and forecasting cycles, contributing to the preparation of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow projections. This role will see you working across multiple areas of the business, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to influence non-financial stakeholders.

In addition, you will be involved in continuous improvement initiatives, including enhancing month-end processes and supporting an upcoming ERP implementation. You will also assist with statutory reporting and audit requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory obligations. This position offers strong exposure and the opportunity to make a tangible impact within a growing organisation.

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax obligations (BAS, FBT, payroll)
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital performance
  • Assist with statutory reporting and liaise with external auditors
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and systems

You are a CA- or CPA-qualified accounting professional with strong technical expertise and a solid background in financial reporting. With several years of post-qualification experience, you bring a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Your strong Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems enable you to analyse and interpret complex data efficiently.

You are a confident and effective communicator, capable of building relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the business. Your collaborative approach and strong interpersonal skills allow you to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

In addition, you are proactive and solutions-focused, with a passion for continuous improvement. You enjoy identifying inefficiencies and driving process enhancements, particularly within reporting and systems. Experience in a complex or multi-entity environment, as well as exposure to system implementations or transformation projects, will be highly regarded.
