Job Description

Location: Brisbane

Role Highlights: Reo Group Executive Search has been exclusively retained to appoint an exceptional finance executive to a confidential Divisional CFO role with a well-established global organisation. This is a strategically significant appointment, offering broad exposure across financial planning, data and performance insights, and finance transformation. The successful candidate will play a lead role in shaping the next generation of finance capability, partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

Role Overview

As Divisional CFO, you will lead the strategic evolution of the finance function – reshaping the finance operating model for the future, upgrading the budgeting and forecasting cycle, and building a data lake and performance insights capability to drive business performance. You will work closely with executive leadership to translate data into commercial decision-making and support the organisation's next phase of growth.

Financial control, tax, treasury, governance and reporting remain the foundation of this role, but they are not its focus. This is a forward-looking, transformation-oriented appointment for a finance leader who wants to build capability, not simply maintain it.

Responsibilities

Finance for the Future

  • Lead the redesign of the finance operating model, ways of working and technology enablement across the function.
  • Drive the transition to a modern, scalable operating model, including evaluating shared services and outsourcing options.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Redesign and upgrade the annual budgeting cycle and rolling forecast process to improve speed, accuracy and business relevance.
  • Partner with divisional leaders to embed a more dynamic, insight-led planning cycle.

Data & Performance Insights

  • Build a data lake and performance insights capability that connects operational and financial data to support better decisions.
  • Translate data into insight, working closely with the executive team to drive business performance.

Business Partnering

  • Partner with divisional and executive leadership to translate insights into action, supporting growth and performance improvement.
  • Act as a trusted commercial adviser to the business, influencing decisions beyond the finance function.

Leadership

  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Build strong relationships across the finance function and broader leadership team.

Foundational Expertise

  • Maintain strong financial control, governance and statutory reporting as the bedrock of a well-run finance function.
  • Oversee tax, treasury and compliance obligations across the business.

Candidate Profile

You are an experienced finance executive with a track record of leading finance transformation and building data-driven performance capability within a complex, multi-entity organisation. You bring strong commercial acumen, the ability to influence senior stakeholders, and experience modernising budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes.

A strong grounding in financial control, tax, treasury and governance is expected as the foundation of your background – but this role is about what you build next, not what you maintain. Experience with data infrastructure, analytics platforms and finance operating model change will be highly regarded.

Culture & Benefits

This organisation is recognised for its scale, strong market position and commitment to excellence. You'll join a collaborative leadership team and have the opportunity to influence strategic outcomes while modernising a high-performing finance function. Grow your career – broaden your business acumen in a key leadership role.

  • Divisional CFO role within a large global organisation.
  • Broad exposure across finance transformation, data strategy and business performance.
  • Competitive executive remuneration package, including STI and LTI.
