Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely group financial reporting. The role will support month-end and year-end close, statutory reporting, ASX requirements, external audit, tax compliance and Board reporting across a complex multi-entity environment.

The position will also contribute to technical accounting, internal controls, treasury and the integration of newly acquired businesses. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced accountant looking to broaden their exposure across a listed organisation and play a meaningful role in improving finance processes and governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of half-year and full-year consolidated financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Assist with ASX announcements and investor reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate the external audit process and work closely with external auditors.
  • Drive an accurate and timely month-end close and contribute to Board reporting.
  • Support tax compliance across Australia and New Zealand, including income tax, BAS, FBT and payroll tax.
  • Maintain and strengthen the Group's internal control framework and accounting policies.
  • Identify control gaps, financial anomalies and process inefficiencies and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Provide technical accounting advice across areas including impairment, ECL, leases, share-based payments and inventory.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers for senior finance and governance stakeholders.
  • Support acquisition accounting and purchase price allocation activities.
  • Prepare and monitor financial covenant calculations in line with banking requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, reporting processes and controls.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be CA- or CPA-qualified with a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, combined with a minimum of five years' post-qualification experience. You will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, with experience across statutory reporting, tax, group consolidations and external audit.

Experience within an ASX-listed environment is highly desirable, along with exposure to complex multi-entity or multi-site organisations. Strong Excel and ERP capability is expected, while Pronto experience will be advantageous. You will be commercially minded, analytical and comfortable operating hands-on while partnering with senior stakeholders.
