Role Overview: Reporting to the Manager Accounting Services, this role and the financial accounting team are integral in maintaining the integrity, governance, and policies over the accounting data of the ASC group, integral to ensuring ASC meet’s all financial reporting obligations, to stakeholders internal and external.

Responsibilities

  • General and project ledger maintenance.
  • Analyse, understand and ensure general ledger and overhead costings are aligned with the direct project costs throughout the year.
  • Assistance and preparations of responses for the annual customer audit.
  • Accurate processing of journals to both projects and general ledgers.
  • Preparation and analysis of monthly balance sheet reconciliations on assigned accounts.
  • Comply with all WHS policies and procedures and ASC’s Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Policy.
  • Manage and safeguard ASC’s financial interests by ensuring conformity with all finance compliance requirements, both external and internal.
  • Through management and oversight of internal controls and governance frameworks ensure compliance from a legislative and ASC policy perspective.
  • Actively involved in the identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives and the further development of systems and internal controls to increase efficiencies as well as establishing a continuous improvement culture.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience at a similar level within a mid to large corporate environment or an accounting firm.
  • You’ll hold CA or CPA qualifications or will be studying towards full membership.
  • You will have a sound knowledge and experience working with Australian Accounting Standards.
  • You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask and build strong and effective working relationships.
  • This role requires a current National Police Clearance, and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
