Role Overview
Reporting into the Finance Manager, this Assistant Accountant will be responsible for assisting with month-end as well as financial reporting and providing essential insights. On a monthly basis, you will post journals, complete essential reconciliations, manage the fixed assets as well as assist with prepayments and accruals across all business units. You will also assist with analytical insights as well as with audit processes.

You will capitalise on your effective communication to ensure you seek out feedback from your stakeholders and enjoy a best-practice environment that is always striving for efficiency and people development. This role will give you the opportunity to contribute essential financial advice and insights to key stakeholders in the business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the reconciliation of all cash entries; AU & NZ business
  • Responsible for the prepayment schedules to assist with EOM balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers
  • Reconcile the general ledger
  • Assist with Fixed Asset register
  • Assistance the Financial Accountants with monthly and quarterly close deliverables; local, regional and corporate reporting
  • Assist with some AP and AR tasks as needed.  

 

Candidate Profile
You are highly energetic and analytical in your thinking, wishing to be in a highly visible role. You are accounting degree qualified and in the process of completing your CA or CPA.  You have an understanding of a large P&L ideally coming out of a complex organisation.  With exceptional communication skills that you leverage in shaping positive working relationships, you are flexible in working through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. A passion for continuous improvement and taking things to the next level is at the core of who you are ensuring you seek out feedback as an opportunity to develop skills and continue to learn.
