Role Overview
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant, supports the wider Finance team by ensuring accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card review and bank reconciliations are complete and delivered timely and accurately. You will prepare month-end reconciliations, assist with management reporting and the annual Budget process.
The role also contributes to the continuous improvement of internal processes and assists with the financial accounting and reporting as well as regulatory (ASIC) compliance.
Responsibilities
- All aspects of the accounts payable function
- All aspects of the accounts receivable function and be responsible for managing the internal and external cost recharges
- Reconciling bank accounts in a timely manner within each month.
- Assist with the financial accounting process, including maintenance of the fixed asset register and corporate affairs reporting.
- Assist with the reporting process, including the preparation of quarterly management reports for distribution to key personnel.
- Assist in the monthly forecasting and budgeting.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and ad-hoc reports for the key personnel as required.
- Assist in budget reporting, including communicating with external and internal stakeholders.
- Assist the Finance Manager and Financial Controller with other aspects of the monthly management reporting for the corporate entities as required.
- Review the monthly corporate credit and employee expenses transactions
- Assist with regulatory compliance.
Candidate Profile
- Tertiary qualification in accounting
- CPA/CA in progress
- Minimum 6 months to 18 months experience in a similar role
- Proficient in Excel
- Strong understanding AP/AR and Reconciliations
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Career-driven with a passion for development
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment
