Job Description
Location: Liverpool Region, South-West Sydney
Salary Package: $130k - $150k + Super +
Role Highlights: A pivotal operational leadership role where you'll drive systems, culture, and efficiency across production, inventory, and warehouse operations during an exciting growth phase. A rare chance to truly shape and influence change.
Role Overview
If you're looking for a role that’s equal parts challenge and opportunity - this might just be the one.
We've partnered with a privately owned Australian business that’s known for innovation, design, and sustainability in the commercial manufacturing space. They’ve been around for over 20+ years, and while the foundation is strong, they’re now entering a new phase of growth.
And growth need’s structure. That’s where you come in.
As the Operations Manager, you'll step into a newly created role designed to partner directly with the Commercial Director. You’ll inherit a well-intentioned but loosely structured team across production, scheduling, inventory, and warehousing - and be trusted to lead, improve, implement, and elevate.
This isn’t a role where you sit back and wait for direction. You’ll be building new rhythms, stabilising recent site relocations, leading cultural change, and helping to roll out a new ERP system - all while coaching a diverse team and ensuring output stays on track.
You’ll be the “go-to” for all things ops and work closely with the Director on future growth, improvements and initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead a broad team across production, scheduling, planning, inventory, and warehousing (Approx 50 across the business)
- Coach and develop staff with varying levels of experience and tenure (some 20+ years in the business, some have just joined)
- Oversee workflow planning, inventory management, and factory output
- Drive change, implementing new systems and processes
- Help build structure within the production function - introducing hierarchy, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with senior leadership to deliver strategic and practical outcomes
- Be a key driver of the next chapter for this business
Candidate Profile
You’re likely in a similar operations leadership role already and looking for something more dynamic, with more influence that you can really make your own.
You’ve probably experienced growth firsthand. You know what it’s like to guide a business through transformation. You’re confident leading a diverse team and are as comfortable on the factory floor as you are in a planning meeting.
You're solutions-focused, tech-savvy, and calm in chaos. Most importantly, you’re people-first - someone who can bring others along on the journey.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Brings strong operations experience across manufacturing and warehouse environments
- Has led and mentored teams through change and complexity
- Is confident in inventory, production planning, and job-shop manufacturing
- Is comfortable implementing tech and systems
- Communicates well across all levels - from floor operators to directors
- Has a passion for improvement, stability, and great people leadership
Culture & Benefits
This is a business that celebrates originality, design, and a bit of quirk - where hard work is respected, ideas are welcomed, and laughter still makes its way into the day.
You’ll be reporting to a Commercial Director who’s driven, straight-talking, and invested in seeing you succeed.
You’ll also be joining a team of great people who are ready for the next chapter - and looking for someone to lead them there.
- Full-time permanent role, Monday-Friday
- Newly created role geared for growth
- 5 x days onsite at their main facility
- Liverpool area, South-West Sydney
- Supportive, honest, and dynamic leadership
- Exciting time of growth and transformation
- Strong tenure across the team - great people, ready to be led
- Salary Range: $130k – $150k + Super
