Role Overview: 
You'll take full ownership of a Mackay branch servicing mining, industrial and agricultural customers across regional Queensland. This is a people and operations leadership role first, your job is to bring the team together, set the standard for how this branch communicates and performs, and drive the commercial outcomes that come from a well-led team. You don't need to have done this at scale. You need to care about getting it right.

Reporting to the Regional Business Manager, you'll have direct support as you establish your approach. At 6-12 months, the goal is a team that talks to each other, performs consistently and collaborates with neighbouring branches - a branch that runs well because of the environment you've created.

Responsibilities 

  • Own the branch P&L — sales performance, cost control and financial reporting
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of 10+ across internal sales and store operations
  • Build the communication habits, team culture and performance rhythm this branch needs
  • Manage key customer relationships across mining, agriculture and industrial sectors
  • Oversee stock management, safety compliance and day-to-day branch operations
  • Drive collaboration with neighbouring regional branches
  • Work closely with your Regional Manager and national support functions on wider initiatives

Candidate Profile 

You're a natural people leader, the kind of person who makes a team better just by being in it. You listen well, communicate clearly at every level, and you create an environment where people feel supported enough to perform. You might be running a small team or branch now and ready for more, or you've been the 2IC, Assistant Manager doing the leadership work without the title. Either way, you know what good looks like and you're ready to own it.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience leading or supervising a team of at least 5 people across any operational, branch or industrial environment
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in developing the people around you
  • A process-driven mindset, organised, consistent and clear on how things should run
  • Some exposure to commercial basics - targets, reporting or cost awareness
  • An understanding of mining, agriculture, manufacturing or industrial sectors at a working level
