Job Description

Location: Western Sydney
Salary Package: $130k - $140k + Super + Bonus
Role Highlights: A rare chance to build a brand-new product category from day one, with the backing of a global manufacturer, real budget behind you, and genuine ownership over the strategy, the roadmap and the launch.

This is a career-defining opportunity for someone who wants to build, not maintain. Our client, a global equipment manufacturer with an established presence in the hospitality and foodservice sector, is entering the commercial cooking equipment market for the first time, and they want a specialist who can lead that charge. You'll bring your market knowledge, they'll bring the scale, the resources and the platform to turn it into a genuine growth category.

Role Overview

In this role, you'll take the lead on assessing the group's existing product ranges across its wider portfolio of brands, pinpointing which offerings have genuine commercial potential in Australia, and shaping the go-to-market plan around them. That involves mapping the competitive landscape, building the dealer and distribution strategy, and designing the after-sales support model, spare parts, SLAs and service partners, so the category is set up to succeed from the moment it launches.

From there, your focus shifts to execution. You'll bring the initial range to market, get it in front of the right channels, and use early results to shape the next wave of products.

Responsibilities

  • Assess product ranges across the group's brand portfolio and identify the strongest commercial cooking equipment opportunities for the Australian market
  • Build the product roadmap and manage new product introductions from concept through to launch
  • Develop the channel and go-to-market strategy, including dealer network and route-to-market planning
  • Establish the after-sales support model, including service partners, SLAs and spare parts holdings
  • Read, interpret and compare technical specification sheets across multiple manufacturers to inform product decisions
  • Partner with sales, engineering, logistics and international group companies to align on strategy and execution
  • Own the commercial performance of the category, including profitability and growth targets

Candidate Profile

  • Strong knowledge of commercial cooking equipment, gained through time with a manufacturer, distributor or dealer, or hands-on experience as a chef working with the equipment day to day
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to translate product knowledge into a go-to-market plan
  • Proven project management skills, able to run a product launch with real milestones, timelines and budget discipline
  • Strong communication skills, able to bring sales, engineering and logistics teams along with you

Culture & Benefits

The commercial cooking category doesn't exist yet, which means you're not inheriting a structure, you're building one. That's rare, and it means your fingerprints will be on every decision from day one. As the category grows and proves out, so does the scope of the role, this is a genuine platform for someone looking to grow into a bigger remit as the business scales around them.

  • Newly created role to write the strategy and grow the category
  • Be rewarded, $130k - $140k + Super + Bonus
  • Real decision-making power, own the strategy and create the roadmap
